A Grand Junction man is behind bars, accused of trying to run down a Mesa County Sheriff's deputy, then ramming a patrol car.
27 year old Gesere Henry was arrested early Saturday morning near the intersection of 30 Road and Gunnison Avenue, following an incident that began at the Rum Bay nightclub.
Lt. Gerry Cowhig tells 11News it all started around 12:30 when sheriff's deputies were called to the bar for a report of a fight. At some point Henry was asked to leave the nightclub, but refused and became uncooperative with the staff.
Authorities say when they arrived on scene, Henry was leaving the parking lot in his Ford F-150 truck. They tried to contact him and that's when Henry allegedly tried to run over a deputy who was on foot.
Cowhig says in the process of fleeing, Henry also rammed a deputy's car, causing an estimated $5,000 in damage.
Henry is in the Mesa County jail facing a slew of charges, including attempted vehicular homicide, eluding police, and criminal mischief. All of which are felonies.
