GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A local group is asking for your help to ensure that all families in Mesa County get to have a happy holiday season.
Hope Unlimited of Mesa County is looking for people or groups to adopt a family for Christmas by providing them with the food for a holiday meal as well as a gift for each family member.
If you're strapped for time, the organization will accept your donations and do the shopping and delivering for you. Organizers say, however, there's nothing quite like the joy you feel when you buy and deliver the items to the family yourself.
"It's amazing to see that they realize God did not forget them," said Vicki McGee, Executive Director of Hope Unlimited of Mesa County.
The deadline to adopt a family is December 6.
To learn how you can get involved you can call Hope Unlimited at (970) 778-4880, visit their website (click on the link below listed under "Related Links") or email them at hopeunlimitedmesacounty@gmail.com.
The group is also in need of volunteers to help deliver items and a storage unit to store items in.
