Police have identified the suspicious cardboard box wrapped in duck tape that forced the evacuation of Palisade High School.
Palisade Police say the device was found on the sidewalk on the north side of the school near the band hall. It turned out to be a small engine leaking fluid.
School was canceled for the rest of the day. Bus took children home and parents were asked to pick up kids at the east side of the parking lot.
The Grand Junction Police Department's Bomb squad was called in to assist.
