Results from a new study suggest you may want to pour yourself a bowl of whole grain cereal this morning.
A study of 21,000 men who were followed for nearly 20 years found the more whole grain cereal they ate, the lower their risk of heart failure. Men who ate the cereal seven or more times in a week had a 29% reduced risk for the disease. Experts say eating whole grains may lower heart failure risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity.
