In 24 hours more than a dozen cars were broken into in parts of Mesa County.
Grand Junction Police are looking into 12 theft from auto cases from just Wednesday night, and the Mesa County Sheriff's Office is looking into several more.
Police say at least 10 of the vehicles were unlocked giving thieves easy access. Police reports indicate that eight victims had a wallet,
purse or checkbook stolen. Two victims even had their social security cards taken.
But while the burglaries happened during an eight hour period,
investigators don't have much to go on.
Total losses in these cases is estimated to be about $10,000 dollars.
