Police Arrest Seven People For Allegedly Selling Liquor To Minors

The Grand Junction Police Department is cracking down on stores that sell alcohol to minors.

On Friday night police arrested six people at store throughout Grand Junction for allegedly selling alcohol to underage kids.

Just last week local law enforcement received a $40,000 grant to fund projects aimed at reducing underage drinking. The money is going to be used to identify liquor stores that sell alcohol to minors and track down minors who try to buy alcohol illegally.

Last year, deputies arrested more than 300 minors for drinking underage.
