Man Accused of Threatening to Rape a Nurse in Serious Condition

The 91-year-old Palisade man accused of threatening to rape a nurse is in serious condition tonight.

According a doctor at the VA Hospital, Ralph Ridenour has dementia and a blood clot in his leg.

He's listed in serious condition at the hospital.

Ridenour was supposed to be in court this morning to hear the charges he'll face, but doctors told the court he can't be moved because of his failing health.

His lawyer says he's in an active stage of dying.

Ridenour is accused of trying to sexually assault a nurse at the Palisade Living Center on October 21.

Officers say Ridenour told the nurse that he was going to rape her and not to scream, and then tried to rip the nurses clothes off.

He's also a registered sex offender.

Ridenour's next court date is set for late November charges might be filed at that time depending on his health.
