The Mesa County Coroner's Office has completed its investigation into the death of a newborn girl who was killed during a high speed chase.

The coroner says the child died of asphyxia and has ruled the manner of death as homicide.

Logan Lage is already facing charges in the baby's death. He's behind bars on a $500,000 bond for child abuse resulting in death. But now that the coroner has ruled the baby's death as homicide he could face additional charges of vehicular homicide.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the 24 year old Grand Junction man led them on a high speed chase on Highway 65 on November 6. The chase ended with Lage crashing head on into 26 year old Shea Lehnen. Lehnen was 8 1/2 months pregnant with the baby girl that died in the crash.

Lage will be back in court later this week.
