The Cost of Thanksgiving Dinner

By  |

Looking forward to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings? Get ready to fork over a little more dough.

It doesn't take an economist to tell food prices are up. Potatoes are down about 5%, but don't expect a drop in the price of turkey. Wholesale prices are up around five cents a pound.

Global demand and skyrocketing fuel prices are driving up food prices across the board. Farmers are feeling the pinch, too. The bottom line? For every $10.00 you spent last year, expect to pay about forty four cents more.

The other Thanksgiving tradition: paying a little more for a family meal that's priceless.
