Grand Junction's unemployment rate continues to fall; it's down three 3.3 % from this time last year.
According to the Mesa County Workforce Center, the unemployment rate for the month of October stood at 2.8%.
As the unemployment rate keeps falling, the number of people entering Grand Junction's workforce is climbing. Last year more than 3,200 people entered the workforce. But while there are many new workers there aren't enough to fill all the jobs. The Workforce Center has found it's role has changed. It still helps employees find jobs, but its real task has been helping employers find workers.
Grand Junction's all time low unemployment rate was set back in May of 2001, it was 2.6%.
