Grand Junction High School students are getting an even longer Thanksgiving vacation than they originally thought after a water line break forced the school to shut down this week.
School District 51 Spokesman Jeff Kirtland says the school now
will remain closed until December 3rd because of the extensive
damage.
Kirtland calls the flood of 250,000 gallons of water into
mechanical and electrical systems at the school a ``truly
catastrophic event.''
District crews are expected to work through the holiday weekend to clean up the mess and repair equipment that was disabled or damaged by the water.
