An accident has State Troopers looking for a hit and run driver.

Colorado State Patrol says that driver took-off after causing an accident on Highway 50. It happened just after 10 pm Sunday night near mile marker 39.

A driver in a Nissan Sentra was westbound in the eastbound lane of Highway 50. That person hit a driver, 58 year old Danny Daniels of Hotchkiss, who was driving the right direction on the road.

The Lands End Fire Department took Daniels to Saint Mary's Hospital in serious condition. Colorado State Patrol is searching for the driver who took off.

They think alcohol may have been a factor in this crash.

State Patrol says the Sentra had been recently bought, but the new owner hadn't registered the car yet. Troopers also say it had fake plates on it.
