Powderhorn Officials Delay Opening Due To Lack Of Snow

A lack of snow has delayed the opening of Powderhorn Ski Resort by two days.

Powderhorn was supposed to open Thursday, but instead opening day will be Saturday.

A weekend storm dumped 24 inches of new snow on the summit helping build a solid base but officials feel they need a little more snow to make the mountain safe.

Another storm is expected this week.

On opening day Santa will host a pancake breakfast at Wildewood Restaurant from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The first 100 people in line at Powderhorn will receive gifts from places like Chick–Fil–A and Gene Taylors.
