Judge Dismisses Most Serious Charges In Walker Case

Two felony charges against Grand Junction High’s former athletic director have been dropped, all because of the wording of Colorado’s Internet luring law,

District Judge Thomas Diester has dismissed charges of enticement of a child and Internet luring of a child against Johnnie Walker.

Under Colorado Law, Walker would have had to converse with a child under the age of 15 to be charged with the crimes. But because Walker was allegedly chatting online with a man posing to be a 14-year-old girl he can't be charged.

Walker is still facing charges of attempted Internet luring of a child.

Walker was arrested April 19th on a warrant that alleged he had sexually explicit online chats with a private citizen posing to be a 14-year-old girl.

He’ll be back in court in early January.
