After a student is shot in the leg with a nail gun at a local high school, his parents are raising questions about supervision in the classroom.

Last Monday Palisade High student Kyle Howell was shot in the leg with a nail gun by another student. Kyle says it's not unusual for the students in Tech Ed class to play with automatic nail guns.

Kyle’s mother Regina wants answers as to how students are able to play with automatic tools. She says the teacher wasn’t in the room when the shooting occurred, but District 51 spokesman Jeff Kirtland says “we believe the teacher was in the room at the time”.

The district is conducting an investigation into the incident. The Howell's and the school board are arranging a meeting to discuss last Monday's events.
