Arrest Warrants Issued In Paonia Assault

By  |

In August a Paonia man was nearly beaten to death, now more than four months after the incident one person is under arrest and police are looking for three others.

Natalie Rupe is already behind bars and now police are looking for her husband Brent along with Dustin Carver and a juvenile.

Officials say on August 12, the four people assaulted Jim Lord outside of Thomas Waldo's Tavern in Paonia.

Lord's family says he was beaten so badly that he'll never be the same.

The Rupe's are facing the most serious charges including felony assault while Carver is only facing misdemeanor charges.

Police from four different agencies worked on the case and they say it took so long to issue warrants because of the number of suspects involved, and the number of agencies.
