The local Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign is down 23% this year. Officials say it’s going to be hard to make it a Merry Christmas for all but that they’re trying their hardest.
With monetary donations down, it’s going to be harder to assist those in need of toys and food during this holiday season. Majors Alfred and Stella Parker are guaranteeing that no child in need will go without this Christmas but say they need your help.
Along with money, the Salvation Army is also in need of volunteers to help sort toys for its giveaway. At least 25 volunteers are needed to help distribute gifts this Wednesday and Thursday.
If you're interested in donating your time or money please contact the Salvation Army at 242–7531.
