Investigators are trying to determine if one overnight accident may have been linked to drinking and driving.
Around four this morning,
a compact station wagon was traveling westbound on I 70B at 30 road, when it collided with a concrete curb.
A front tire was torn in the accident.
The car continued to move forward and bounced off a light pole.
Then it ran over a sign and came to rest in the middle of eastbound lanes on I–70B.
Grand Junction and Clifton fire departments responded, along with members of the mesa county sheriff department and Colorado state patrol.
The male driver was detained while state patrol investigated the accident.
Law enforcement authorities say alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.
