Early birds won't get the worm, or the refund, next year.
More than three million January tax filers will have to wait until February for their refunds.
That's because Congress didn't freeze an expansion of the alternative minimum tax until last week.
That timing doesn't give the IRS enough time, and it won't be able to process five of the forms related to the tax until February.
