In an effort to save lives and prevent alcohol related crashes this New Year’s holiday, law enforcement will be cracking down on those who drink and drive.
"The heat is on" campaign started Friday and will last through 3 am January 2nd.
During last year's New Year’s Eve enforcement period, almost 500 people were arrested for DUI’s around the state.
Fortunately there were no alcohol related fatalities.
So if you plan to party, play it safe and get a designated driver.
