Warning To Travelers: No Loose Lithium Batteries In Carry On Luggage

A warning for frequent flyers: beginning tomorrow, airline passengers will not be allowed to pack loose lithium batteries in carry on luggage, unless they are packed in plastic bags.

Batteries installed in laptops, cell phones and cameras will be allowed on board.

The FAA has found fires sparked by lithium batteries cannot be contained by the current fire protection systems in cargo holds of planes.

Even if stored correctly, passengers are limited to only two loose batteries.
