Mexican Hat, Utah (AP) _ Nine people are dead after a charter
bus crash in a remote area of southeastern Utah. Police believe the
51 people aboard were heading back to Arizona from a Colorado ski
trip.

Police say the bus didn't negotiate a curve and ran off a wet
road last night. While the bus was tumbling, police say its roof
split open and several people were thrown out. Twenty passengers
are hurt.

The crash took place near the Four Corners region where Utah
meets Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. Rescue crews from four
states were sent to help.

Winter storms are hampering the effort. A Colorado helicopter
couldn't take off because of the poor conditions.

The cause of the crash is unknown.
