The Conejos County Sheriff's Department says six missing snowmobilers have been located and all are alive.
The group had been missing since Friday near the Colorado– New Mexico border. The six people are New Mexico residents from two families.
The heavy snow storm dumped as much as four feet in the area where the snowmobilers were found. Authorites credited the safe rescue of the snowmobilers to their knowledge of the outdoors. They say it was fortunate that they knew to find shelter and stay put when they were caught in bad weather.
