Dense fog this morning, combined with slick roads from yesterday's storm caused problems for drivers. In one accident, the driver of a car on I–70 near Palisade went off the road for nearly 300 feet, tore out the underside of his vehicle, and ruptured his fuel tank.
The Palisade Fire Department made sure nothing caught fire, and the State Patrol ticketed the driver for careless driving.
In a separate accident a grand junction woman rolled her SUV on I–70 near Horizon Drive. She wasn't hurt, but she too was ticketed for careless driving.
