The Colorado Democratic party is calling for Secretary of State Mike Coffman's resignation.

Chair Pat Waak says it's not political, and says the public is losing confidence in the voting process.

Coffman's office didn't return calls to 11 News for comment, but he has said millions of dollars worth of voting decertified equipment can't be used in elections without an appeals process.

That's what Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Janice Rich says she's doing. Rich says she sent a letter to Coffman last Friday asking him to reconsider the decertification of Mesa County's machines.
