A woman says jailers at the Mesa County Jail passed around nude photos of her and she now wants the county to pay her at least one hundred thousand dollars.
Jessica Duran says her husband was an inmate at the Mesa County Jail when she mailed nude photos to him. She says her privacy and civil rights were violated. Also, she says she has suffered emotional distress and humiliation after jailers passed the photos around.
Duran told 11 News last September that the situation "should have handled it professionally, instead they passed it around and acted like male pigs".
County officials say it's standard procedure to open inmates' mail to prevent contraband from getting into jail.
Duran must first file this claim before she can sue.
Sheriff Stan Hilkey says any lawsuit against the county in this case would be meritless.
