A new housing development has improved the conditions of a Grand Junction neighborhood.
While most developers are not building or renovating properties with the weak national housing market, Mark Holmes, a Grand Junction real estate broker, is helping to fix an old rental complex.
Holmes has placed condos in the place of the old property. Holmes said, "The neighborhood was kind of a low rent neighborhood and we're trying to transform the neighborhood."
The renovated condos have made at least one neighbor of the complex excited about the future of the neighborhood. James Shumate said, "They look a lot better and the genre of people you see coming around the neighborhood look a lot nicer than normal."
With 20 years of real estate experience, Mark Holmes is not concerned with the slacking national housing market. He believes while the national market maybe flat, Grand Junction's housing market is still going strong.
