Grand Junction High School's former athletic director may be headed to trial.
John Walker is accused of attempted internet luring of a child and attempted enticement of a child. He was in court today to enter a plea.
His attorney said he wasn't ready but because of the plea deadline, the judge was forced to enter a not guilty plea on his behalf and set the case for trial.
Both attorneys say they should reach a plea deal before then.
Two felony charges against Walker have already been dropped
because he wasn't actually talking to a child.
Walker was arrested last year on April 19th, on a warrant for having sexually explicit online chats with someone posing as a 14–year–old girl, and later resigned from his job at Grand Junction High School.
