A teen originally charged as an adult for trying to steal guns from Gene Taylor's Sporting Goods entered a guilty plea as a juvenile today.

16–year–old Evan Phillips reached a deal with the district attorney's office and pleaded guilty to burglary. Burglary is a class four felony.

Phillips and 16–year–old Broch Riddle were arrested after a four and a half hour police standoff in November of 2007. Police say the two were trying to steal 32–guns from the store when the alarm went off.

District Attorney Pete Hautzinger says Phillips came clean and took responsibility.

Phillips will be sentenced in March.
