American Eagle Air, a subsidiary of American Airlines, will begin service out of Grand Junction Regional Airport on April 7th. Two round trip flights to Dallas will be available everyday, providing extra 36,000 seats a year for GJT.
Airport traffic in Grand Junction was up nearly 7% in 2007. Grand Junction Regional Airport Manager Rex Tippetts says, "we are in desperate need for the additional seats as the communities grown and the economy's boomed."
Dallas/Fort Worth will be the fifth hub flown to directly from Grand Junction and this will make 3,600 more flights available to those flying out of Grand Junction.
