Two people are rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after a head-on crash.
The accident happened Wednesday night on the I–70 Business Loop. According to Colorado State Patrol, alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Troopers say 46–year–old Connie Benson was going west on the business loop when she went through the median into the eastbound lanes of traffic and hit another car.
The driver of the car that was hit suffered minor injuries and tells 11 News he had to climb out through his windshield. He then says he helped firefighters pull Benson from her SUV.
Witnesses tell 11 News that Benson and her male passenger had been at DJ's Bar and Grill, had been cut off, and were offered a ride home just before the crash.
Benson and the man were taken to St. Mary's Hospital with what state patrol says were serious injuries. Neither were wearing seatbelts.
