US DOT Releases Airline Report Card

By  |

Today the U.S. Department of Transportation released it's airline report card for 2007 and it doesn’t look good. The report found more cancelled flights, more delays and more lost bags.

For millions of travelers the outlook is bleak. U.S. Department of Transportation spokesman Bill Mosley says the ailrine on–time performance statistics are the worst they've been in 13 years. Among the worst offenders, the report lists American Eagle, Pinnacle and United Airlines. If you want to catch your plane on time, Aloha, Hawaiin and U.S. Airways ranked the best.

Airline baggage claims are the worst they've been since 1989.

Cancellations aren't looking good either if you're flying American Eagle, Pinnacle or Mesa Airlines. However, if you're flying Frontier, Hawaain or Aloha Airlines you're in the clear.

The U.S. Department of Transportation says it releases the airline report card so you, the consumer, can make better decisions when you buy your tickets.
