Police say they believe someone set fire to an apartment building near downtown Grand Junction Friday night.
Firefighters say when they got to the Rocky Mountain Apartments last night, smoke and flames were pouring out of a unit on the south end of the building. They say they were able to contain the blaze quickly.
Officials say eight people were in the building at the time the fire broke out, but that all made it out safely. Damage is estimated to be about $50 thousand.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 241-STOP.
