Grand Junction, Colo. (AP)- U.S. Representative John Salazar
says the VA medical center here will receive $20 million to fund
projects for the growing veteran population.
The Grand Junction VA Medical Center is funded entirely through
Congress and serves 37,000 veterans, 500 of whom have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Salazar made the funding announcement Friday.
Center spokesman Paul Sweeney says veterans moving to the area
need to register so Congress knows what resources the hospital
needs. The Western Slope and Utah have seen an increase in the
