Montrose County officials want off of the Secretary of State’s Election Watch List.
Recently the Montrose Board of County Commissioners sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Coffman urging that they be removed from the list.
Montrose was placed on the watch list in March of 2007, after problems in the November 2006 election.
Clerk and Recorder Fran Long says the county has worked hard to restore voter confidence by implementing several changes including providing more than 600 hours of training for staff and election judges.
She adds that it resulted in a successful election in November of 2007.
11 News tried to contact the secretary of state to see if he’s received the letter but haven’t heard back.
