Mesa State Gets $50,000 from Natural Gas Company

One of the largest natural gas producers in Mesa County cuts a large check to the college.

Plains Exploration and Production Company gave Mesa State College $50,000 to put towards its Saunders Field House Renovation and Expansion Project.

The gift puts the college extremely close to reaching its $6 million fundraising goal for the project. The school says it only needs about $300,000 more to hit the goal.

Officials at the college say the $41 million Saunders Field House and Health Sciences Center Project will provide much needed room for the school's expanding nursing program and athletic facilities.
