A Montrose Elementary School teacher is on administrative leave as part of an abuse investigation.
School Officials placed the Johnson Elementary School special education teacher on leave last Friday.
11 News has chosen not to release the teacher's name because she has not been charged.
According to our friends at the Montrose Daily Press, family members of one of the victims say the teacher grabbed their 5–year–old's arm, jerked him to the ground and dragged him across the classroom.
School officials say it's in the hands of law enforcement.
The teacher has worked for Johnson Elementary since May of 2006, according to the school district.
Montrose Police say the alleged child abuse incident happened at Johnson Elementary sometime between November 7 and February 5.
Investigators say they're gathering statements, and will be in talks with the district attorney's office.
