Maggie, the eight-year-old Australian Shepard is a certified search and rescue dog for Search and Rescue Dogs of Colorado or SARDOC for short. And as part of SARDOC regulations, Maggie is required to work for her countie's search and rescue team.

Her owner and trainer, Shannon Young, has been working with search and rescue groups for 18 years. 15 of those years have been spent with Mesa County. Young says Maggie plays two roles; one as a pet and the other as a work dog.
