An elementary school was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after police received a report of an armed man in the area.
Caprock Academy on 24 ½ Road was placed on lock down at about 2:15 p.m.
Officials made the call as a precaution while they looked for a man thought to be armed and suicidal.
After no sign of the man in the area, the lock down was lifted around 2:40 p.m.
A short time later, the man police were looking for was pulled over in Fruita.
Grand Junction Police say no crime has been committed and they are not charging the man with any offense.
