Workers at American Axle walked off the job this morning after contract talks failed.
The workers went on strike after contract talks broke off between American Axle and the United Auto Workers Union.
American Axle is a major supplier for General Motors, who has been stock piling parts because of the pending walk out.
A spokesperson for the company says they aren't sure when talks will resume.
The strike covers 3600 employees in Michigan and New York.
