New Armory May Come to Grand Junction

The capitol development committee will vote today whether or not to approve funding for a new armory in Grand Junction.

The armory would accommodate 133–soldiers assigned to Grand Junction under the U.S. army's "grow the force" initiative.

It would cost the department of military and veterans affairs $4 million to build it.

If the state does not fund the new armory, the department of military and veterans affairs could lose more than $80 million from the federal government for four Colorado armories.
