County's Optical Scanners Pass the Test

Mesa County elections officials spent time in Denver Friday to test the county's optical scanners, which are used to tabulate paper ballots.

On Thursday, Colorado Secretary of State Mike Coffman recertified scanners for 47 counties, but Mesa County was not one of them.

Local election officials tell 11 News the testing of the machines went very well, and that the scanners scored a 100% pass rate. They hope this means the county's scanners will be recertified soon, but say they have been given no indication on when that would be.
