A Wells Fargo security guard was robbed late Wednesday night.
Sergeant Lonnie Chavez of the Grand Junction Police Department tells us the guard called police at 11:45 p.m. to say he’d been robbed by three men wearing red bandanas on their heads.
The robbers never made it into the bank. Instead, they just took the guard’s bank deposit bag and then fled south.
Sergeant Chavez says one of the robbers may have had a knife, and that one of them assaulted the guard, who has minor injuries from the attack.
Police are going to check the bank's security cameras Thursday to try to better identify the robbers.
