Two 19-Year-Olds Being Investigated for Racial-Bias Crime

Boulder, Colo. (AP) -- Two 19-year-olds are being investigated for a racial-bias crime after a Latino man was called a derogatory name and attacked after being asked, “Why are you stealing our jobs?”

Abraham Paquet, of Broomfield, and Joshua Ruzek of Lafayette were arrested after an attack Tuesday outside of a gas station convenience store. The two are also suspected of attacking a 15-year-old boy, who is white, and stealing his skateboard.

Paquet was arrested on suspicion of a bias-motivated crime, third-degree assault, robbery and harassment. Ruzek was held on suspicion of a bias-motivated crime, harassment and possession/consumption of alcohol by an underage person.
