A company out of New York is recalling about 7,000 magnetic toys because the magnets can come out, and children can be hurt if they swallow them.
The recall is for the 108-piece (item number bb1439h) and the 68-piece (item number bat-34) Magnabild Magnetic Building System sets. Battat Inc. has received 16 reports of magnets coming out of the building pieces. The building systems were sold nationwide and online from
July 2005 through February 2008 for between $20 and $35.
No children have been hurt, but if more than one magnet is swallowed, they can stick together and cause internal injuries, even death.
They come with a choking hazard warning, and are not intended for children under three.
Battat recalled 125,000 other Magnabild Building Systems on January 23, 2008
Parents can call the company at 1-800-247-6144 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.ET for a free replacement toy.
