Powderhorn Ski Resort is hoping one of its employees will make a quick and full recovery after being seriously injured in crash.
Matthew Puntenney was driving south on Highway 65 near Powderhorn Friday when he somehow ended up in the opposite lane, and smashed head on into a Subaru.
He was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
Sarah Allen, the marketing director for Powderhorn Ski Resort, tells 11 News that Puntenney was a member of the terrain team and in the past had been employed as an instructor. Allen says Puntenney has worked for the resort for at least two years. Allen adds that he is a fun going and laid back guy who's also an excellent skier.
Some of the resort's employees have gone to visit Puntenney in the hospital and tell 11 News he's doing much better than expected. They say he's undergone surgery and is described as being groggy.
Investigators are still investigating the crash but believe snowy weather may have been a factor.
