Some Mountain Towns Troubled By Romer's Talk of Highway Toll

Silverthorne, Colo. (AP) Some mountain residents are questioning a legislator's proposal to use tolls to ease ski traffic and other mountain highway congestion on Interstate 70.

State Senator Chris Romer, D-Denver, is pushing the Idea, and asking for online comments on it.

But some of his colleagues from the mountains say they fear their views and interests aren't being taken into consideration.

State Senator Dan Gibbs of Silverthorne commutes regularly to Denver on I-70. He says mountain residents need to be involved in decision making on this issue because it is vital to their lives.
