Aurora, Colo. (AP) One woman is dead after an early-morning apartment fire in Aurora.
Firefighters responded to the Buckingham Ardens complex at about 2 a.m. Friday and extinguished the flames.
The 54-year-old woman was later discovered dead in her bed.
The fire destroyed the victim's ground-floor apartment.
Residents of at least six units were forced from their apartments and were using a clubhouse for temporary shelter.
Buckingham gardens is owned by the Aurora housing authority, and has more than 120 units.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
