Forecasters Warn of Arkansas Flooding

Des Arc, Ark. (AP) The White River in Arkansas is rising in some parts this morning.

Flooding is forecast in the region despite clear blue skies. A flash flood warning remains in effect for Riverside communities.

At least 17 deaths have been linked to flooding in parts of Ohio, Indiana and Southern Illinois and in wide areas of Missouri. it was triggered by torrential rains.

In Missouri, the Mississippi river is expected to reach 41.5 feet today at Cape Girardeau, nearly 10 feet above flood stage.

In Kentucky, the Ohio river is falling today around Louisville. it crested Friday at 3 feet over flood stage and covered riverside roads with silt and debris.
