Pueblo, Colo. (AP) A Pueblo West man is dead after an early-morning shooting on easter sunday, but investigators say it appears to be a case of self-defense.

Pueblo County Coroner James Kramer used fingerprints to identify the man as 19-year-old James McCarty.

Sgt. Eric Bravo says 24-year-old Andrew Sandoval was hosting a small party when four men showed up and attacked him. Bravo says the group left but returned later, and McCarty confronted Sandoval.

He then pulled a 9 millimeter Glock handgun and shot McCarty five times.

Bravo says Sandoval has no criminal history and has been cooperating with investigators. He has not been arrested.

Authorities say the three men who were with McCarty fled after the shooting.

Police are still looking for them.
